sorry, the blog is not visible to anyone else. i can’t seem to get a picture across the top of the page or insert a picture into my post. i had a blog on blogger a few years ago so i understand the idea but there seem to be so many acronyms that i don’t understand. i read the “zero to hero” and manage to sign up but that seems as far as i can get

i have followed the instructions for the custom header……..the theme i am using is twenty-ten. i have downloaded a licture, it shows in the image place but when i look at my page all i see is the wordpress banner and not the picture i uploaded

Please post the URL of the image you uploded. You can locate that here > Media Library
What was the size of the image you uploaded as a header?
What is the file extension of the image file?

And try the Cookie Dance: you could just be looking at a cached, old version of your site.
Cookie Dance: Log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer.

@time thief –i am trying to use a picture of a pair of baby socks i made and the picture is on my computer so i don’t think i can or know how to send a url to it. is that the problem? do i need to use a picture that i can find on the net? i’m sorry i am not getting this. i’m not stupid but i am really struggling here

The file starts on your computer. You go to the Appearances->Custom Header page on your Dashboard and you click to Upload the file, find it on your computer, and then click Upload once it’s selected. Then you crop it to fit.

@raincoaster………..thank you so much for helping me…….i have successfully added a picture to a post so i am quite happy. thank you. now to just figure out that banner–lol
