Totally Glitched

When surfing my pages, it says “WordPress has refused to connect.”
When trying to edit the site, it says I need to set a Primary Account but it won’t let me do anything in the field that says ‘Primary Account’ but tells me “That method is not allowed.”
Can I get some assistance? I’d add a screenshot but that doesn’t appear as an option.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • To assist you better, could you please confirm if the problems you mentioned are occurring on your WordPress.com site, evocrim.wordpress.com, or is it a different site you’re referring to? Knowing the specific site you’re having trouble with will help us troubleshoot more effectively.

Thanks for the reply, I only have one site: evocrim.wordpress.com

Is there a way to attach a pic of the messages? I took screengrabs, they may help.

    Hey,
You can add an image by clicking on the plus button in the reply section. Search for image among the options and click it. You will be able to add the screenshot.

Alternatively, you can also directly type ( /image ) at the place where its mentioned (Start writing or type/ to choose a block).

  • thank you @melronmas10!

@evocrim – can you also share how you’re connecting to the site? Is this on a mobile phone for example, or in a library, office, or at home? It sounds like the connection isn’t super stable. We did have a forty second outage a few days ago, but this does not sound like the same thing.

Also, can you share a link to the page where you’re seeing this? If you’re trying to get to the Site Editor, you’ll need to be sure you’re using a theme that supports it. Let us know what you have in mind.

When trying to edit the site, it says I need to set a Primary Account but it won’t let me do anything in the field that says ‘Primary Account’ but tells me “That method is not allowed.”

    Hello Supernovia.
I’m on a Window PC with a stable connection.
You have the address of my site: evocrim.wordpress.com
The site is just words and Jpegs, nothing troublesome.

The theme is a standard one that was working fine, I’ve not done anything fancy to it.
As I say it was working fine, but I can no longer update my site.
Nothing on my side of things has changed.

    >>Thank you Melronmas, for showing me how to share a pic but I’m afraid that doesn’t work. I get an error messages saying “Sorry you are not allowed to create posts as this user.”

This is all going really well, isn’t it?

Trying now to delete my wordpress account because it is a total pain and a waste of time.

It won’t even let me do that, it’s just all greyed out and won’t allow me to click anything.

Please assist me in leaving wordpress behind. Thank you.

  • Thank you so much for your patience and persistence. You’re right; it should not be this complicated. We need your help to create a baseline for a solution.

To do that, first, I’d like to see if you can log out of your WordPress.com account on the browser on your PC. My hope is you see that option (“Log out” button) on the left under to your avatar and username in this area: https://wordpress.com/me

Next, once you are successfully logged out, quit and then restart your web browser.

Lastly, log back into your WordPress.com account in that same browser to see if there is any change. When you log back into your account account, it’s important that you start from https://wordpress.com and enter your login information.

If any step in this process does not work, please let us know. Again, thank you so much for sticking through this with us. As you might be able to tell, it’s important to us to help you get this working again soon.
