Totally lost…..paid to sign up for WP, paid for BlueHost…can’t log in
-
All I want is to log in to my new WP site and start working on it, but I could not be more lost at this point…..I set up BlueHost; got an account, I’m on the site. Signed up for WP…paid. Here at WordPress.com, it indicates I’m logged in. But when I try to log into WP from BlueHost, or just from mysitename/wp-admin, I get the login screen, and it rejects my username and password. Tried 100 times. I go to the ‘support’ forum, it cycles me endlessly back and forth, then finally I see ‘login problems.’ It rejects my login………..arrgggh….. So I cannot look for solutions to login…..because I can’t log in! So…..lost…….any help appreciated.

Hey bjnwp,
Welcome to the WordPress.COM forums!
It sounds like you might be struggling with the differences between WordPress.COM vs WordPress.ORG. Since you log onto this site and can post in this forum, you definitely have your .COM credentials in check, but let’s look over your .ORG setup.
When you log in to Bluehost, you should see the 1-click WordPress Install button. This will allow you to set up a username & password and load everything you need to get started. If you don’t know the credentials or would like to reset the site, you can use the 1-click install to override what you’ve already done. Just know that you’ll probably have to start from scratch. After you have that set up so you can log in, you should be good to start exploring different themes and plugins to bring your website to life.
Here is a video with a walkthrough on how to set up WordPress in Bluehost: https://youtu.be/DBs_hrsUytU
If you’d like more help with this issue, the correct forum for WordPress.ORG is https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
For more info about the differences between WordPress.COM vs .ORG, feel free to check out this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Hope this helps!
