Toujours Blog Theme and Ads

    I have a blog on WordPress.com and it is running the Toujours theme. I was wondering why I am getting an ad on my blog lately, exactly at the topmost section of my widget bar, which is pretty annoying ’cause it pushed down some of my widget content.

    I am okay with ads, I get them most of the time at the end of my posts, and I know ads help WordPress, but this one ad that is sitting right on my widget bar is pretty frustrating.

    I understand that there is no way to get rid of these ads but by upgrading and getting self-hosted. But is there any way for me to know if this feature is just part of the Toujours theme or am I going to begin getting ads now in my widget section regardless of the theme.

    Regardless, I’ve gone ahead and tagged this thread for Staff to take note of your feedback.

    As far as upgrading to remove ads, you don’t have to move to being self-hosted to do that. The annual WordPressdotcom Personal plan upgrade includes not only the removal of WordPressdotcom ads, but 3GB additional storage space, an option to register a custom domain as well as direct support by staff by live chat and email.
