Toujours duplicate images featured

Hi- I upgraded to the Toujours theme from Forever and love the new part of adding “feature” to a post’s tags and now it’s easily in the slider. HOWEVER my posts down the homepage have the huge image of the featured image right above the image showing EVERY post. It looks really weird, especially to for those where it’s the same image on top of each other. Please advise!!

Try going to Customize > Featured Content, and check out of “Display tag content in all listings.”
Also I noticed you added a “modlock” tag. You’ll want to add “modlook” next time if you need help from staff & we’ll be right there. Cheers!

If I check out of “Display tag content in all listings” wont it not be on my homepage feed then anymore? I wouldn’t want that. Can you not just feature your new posts in the slider and have all of your posts on the homepage?
Also, I just tried it and now the only post not featured in my slider is showing on the homepage and it still had the featured image above it until I deleted the featured image from the post.
Concluding question: There is no way to feature posts in the slider without having its featured image displayed above the post on the homepage? As in, I cannot have all of my posts listed on the homepage like normal and feature some of them in the slider? That really really stinks, the slider feature looks great I would hate to not be able to use it.

@goodemadeline Basically the front page has three sections: featured posts, the three latest posts, and more posts.
If you choose “Display tag content in all listings” it can appear in Featured as well as in one of the three latest posts. If you uncheck that, Featured posts will only appear in the Featured part of the front page. They won’t appear again on the page.

@supernovia that is really disappointing to hear. I looked at your map and explored it all, and I’ve concluded it’s having a featured image in your post that is really the culprit. It makes the slider quite useless, because even if you choose “Display tag content in all listings” it will show the huge featured image above the posts making it look very unprofessional. Even if I take away the featured tag to take it out of the slider, it still has the huge featured image above the post which I would have to delete. It would be quite pointless and redundant to feature recent posts in the beautiful slider and then the latest posts section as well.
There is no way to feature a few of the most recent posts in the slider and then have all posts to scroll through below? Is there no other post format, anything, to not have the featured image above the post in the homepage or “more posts”? I am sure that is the prospect most were very excited about when they heard about the slider.

If you think the demo looks unprofessional with featured images, please consider either choosing a different theme, or adding Premium so you can use CSS to control more details of the display.
