Trace a WordPress account by a payment reference

    Out of the blue charge appeared on my credit card with reference ‘WORDPRESS [redacted] DUBLIN IE’. I logged into my WordPress account thinking I had forgotten to cancel a subscription but I have no credit cards linked to my account. I want to try and find out if I have another WordPress account that I have forgotten about and wondered if it possible to trace it using the reference number from the credit card statement? Any help much appreciated.

    Hi! Yes, you can use the reference from the credit card statement to find or regain access to the account. I’ve redacted it here for your privacy.

    If you know what the account is and just want to access it again, use this process:
    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

    If you’re not sure what that is, you can use the secure form at https://wpchrg.com to look up the payment and find out what it was for. Then you’ll be able to contact billing directly so they can help with a refund.
