I’ve tried searching for help on this but can’t find anything so if you do know a relevant post please direct me to it.

My problem is that I have my website with

http://parent/blog <– this contains my wordpress blog
http://parent/mynonblog <– this has some content I want only to be available to people registered to my blog but I don’t want wp here

I would like to have a login button on the second page (which directs to http://parent/blog/wp-login.php — I have this link ok, that’s the easy bit) to log in to the account registered with my wordpress blog for my readers and then to redirect after login back to mynonblog and to retain the login information with the username and links to the dashboard (for admin) listed where the login button used to be.

I can write the bits to replace the button with something else and link to the login, my question is how do I get the login to the wp database to redirect back to my site if it is accessed there and what calls/functions can I use to get the user information?

Apologies if this is simple and obvious – I bet its probably just some extra links at the top…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
