Trackback doesn’t work

The first entry is a Trackback testing entry – when following the Link there one should see the trackback in the comments there aint any. In the edit section there is no list of URLs a trackback was sent to. I can still edit the trackback list. This also occurred with other blog pages. f.ex. golem.de – they wrote me they never got a trackback request from my blog in their logs!Please help!

If you can send to that blog and they appear then the problem is not with your blog – but more probably the place they are directed at.

Nope. Incoming trackbacks work fine – outgoing don’t! The problem must be within my blog.

Can you make a test post on your blog to the test blog please – then tell me which post it is?

I, too, am having trouble with a TrackBack. On my most recent entry, I attempted to include a TrackBack to this (non-WordPress) blog entry), using their TrackBack URL. A little while later, I was checking the Bad Astronomy entry and didn’t see my TrackBack there, which was surprising, because previously mine has appeared within minutes. I wanted to see if I entered the URL incorrectly, so I edited my post, and in the TrackBack entry field, it states “Send trackbacks to:” followed by the textbox, and the URL is still in the textbox (similar to Bauhm’s experience); what normally happens is after publication of the post, there will instead be something below that like “already pinged:” and a list of URLs. (I can supply screenshots if it would help.) This to me suggests that the TrackBack was never sent.
Oh I almost forgot, I linked to a previous post of mine and didn’t get a Pingback, so I’m almost certain something isn’t right. I didn’t see anything else in the FAQ or forums explaining this. I wrote the post around six or so hours ago.
(And naturally, I submitted a Feedback for this, but thought I would post here in case anyone else were having similar troubles.)

I am having problem with my trackbacks not being sent too. Here are two example postings,
When trackbacks were working before, anything that I put in “Send trackbacks to:” will be sent and when that was done, the individual trackback will be placed in lines of their own. At the moment, those trackbacks just stayed at the “Send trackbacks to:” box and do nothing.
I hope this makes sense to anyone that can help.

I’m experiencing the same problems trying to create a trackback from http://audioreviewer.wordpress.com/2006/12/06/dynaudio-bm5a-review/ to some of my older posts. :( Same symptoms, the URLs stay in the textbox.

when i wrote the last post the trackback wasn’t there – now it is, you’re right. But comparing to my last post it took more than 7 hours for the trackback to be sent out! The trackback from the Test Blog to my Blog was immediately there.
The trackback of another post to other Blogs is still not working – as I said in my first Entry here: they even looked into the trackback logfile. The trackback never came to them. This was more than 12hours after my Post. At the moment the trackback URLs of the post can still be edited but there is no ‘Trackbacks send to’ list.
It seems as if either the outgoing trackbacks are not sent immediately or they are not sent anyway.
My problems are the same like those of the last 3 persons posting here!edit: There seems to be some inconsistency: a trackback was sent to the Test Post in the Test Blog – I hope it wasn’t a Pingback – but in the edit field of my entry i can still edit the trackback URL so wordpress says that it hasn’t trackbacked yet because there is no ‘send to’ list. In the other post where the trackbacks definetively didn’t work it is the same… :/

On my latest blog post, track backs didn’t work either. Now two of the sites I attempted to send track backs to, I had sent track backs to before. And they always have worked in the past. This began yesterday Dec 6. First time I’ve ever had a problem.
They still show in the track back box. But do not show as any listing of pings as they usually do.It is if they are stuck there. -
@bauhm – “But comparing to my last post it took more than 7 hours for the trackback to be sent out! “. The trackback was in moderation. It says on the blog to check moderation. Make another then go check the “Awaiting Moderation” – it will appear straight away.
The Test blog shows that you are sending trackbacks correctly. How they are dealt with at the other end is entirely down to who ever controls those blogs. If they do not appear – that does not mean you have a fault – because the test send works.
There is difference in display in the Trackback area – we will sort that out.

The trackbacks never reached one of the sites i trackbacked to. This wasn’t one particular blog, there were severals. And the admin of one blog wrote me that (after 5 hours) no trackback request from my blog reached his blog – he looked into his log files. Furthermore in the test blog i could not do anything in that “Awaiting moderation” section. I was not allowed to! So I assumed my trackback did not work – but i’ll test it again now.

edit: for some reason this time it immediately worked… but I am 100% sure this was not the matter of the Blogs I trackbacked to because one of the blogs didn’t have anything in its logs.
2nd edit: i assume the trackbacks take some time to go out. for what reason i do not know! but in the former test blog entry i couldnt approve the comment/trackback from my blog. probably because it wasnt there – and thus i assume it took some time (several hours) to get there.

The user TT on the TestTrack blog is either Admin or Editor depending on what I was last doing in there.
Trackbacks are pretty quick usually.
But it seems that you are sending – so the problem lies elsewhere.
