Trackback Spam?
-
I don’t really understand what trackbacks are… but I thought they are a good thing. So why is the following captured as spam in my comments for Long-Distance Dad?

What does this mean? If I make it NOT spam… will it allow the trackback? And who’s tracking whom? Again…. I don’t get what trackbacks are.

Here are a couple links that describe trackbacks, one from WordPress.com, and another at the WordPress.org Codex:

You can indeed get trackback spam (there are some interesting articles about it if you do a quick Google search), and it sounds like Akismet is catching them for you. Unless you think the trackback in question has been flagged erroneously, I wouldn’t really worry about it.
