Trackback url
-
Since i am facing some problem with tackbacks/ pingbacks I tried testing it on my own blog.
(1) One way to trackback to a WP blog is to add /trackback after the page url right? eg. http://travelscribble.wordpress.com/2009/06/26/inkygirl/trackback
ok, i tested this so i know it finally works!alternatively where can i look for the trackback url? I can’t locate the url for my own blog or any other blog either.
also, could you tell me how to similarly ping blogspot?(2)I tried pinging another blog and my post now shows that the said page has been pinged. If the ping is not displayed in the comment section does that mean that the blogger has turned pings off?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve never used the manual trackbacks, but here are a couple support documents on the subject that might help.

If you link to a blogspot blog in one of your posts, then a trackback will be automatically sent out to them as long as the blogspot blog has “backlinks” enabled for their posts.
Many blogs can either enable or disable showing pingbacks/trackbacks. Blogspot has a hide and show for “backlinks”. If they have them set to hidden, the backlinks will show up for the blog owner to see, but not be visible on the blog.
In WordPress blogs (here or self-hosted) you can either allow or disallow trackbacks/pingbacks under settings > discussion, the second selection from the top under “Default article settings.”
It can also depend on whether the blog has comment moderation enabled. If they do, they might not necessarily “approve” trackbacks/pingbacks and if they do not “approve” them, they will not show up in the blog, but will be listed in their admin area under comments.
