  Hi, I’m new on here and wondering what and how trackbacks work etc…?

  How do I use them, add them and generally achieve anything with them. I sort of understand the principle but till I really know what they do and how i use them am struggling to work them out.

  Any help or advice will be much appreciated…

  You don’t use them at all: at WP.com they’re all done automatically for you. They let people know you’ve linked to them. I wish they were enabled on my external WP blog, because people are generally grateful for them.

  @raincoaster, settings > writing at the bottom of that page under “update services.” Pingomatic.com should be there by default.
