trackbacks following a site redirect

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a site set up colinrobbins.me, and had a number of internal trackback/pingbacks where I referenced articles from on blog post to the other.

    Subsequently I redirected colinrobbins.me to cybermatters.info

However all the trackback/pingbacks point to colinrobbins.me. While this works (get 301 redirects), various link checking tools grumble.

Is there a way I can edit the trackback/pingbacks to fix the URL

    Hi Colin,

If you’re concerned about those redirected pingbacks, you can correct them. You’ll need to go into the posts that generated the pingbacks and change the links to cybermatters.info instead of colinrobbins.me. That should generate a new pingback that uses your new URL, and you can just delete the old pingback that was generated with the old URL.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
