Trackbacks to my own blog?

I get trackbacks that are automatically generated when I link to previous posts in my own blog. Is there an advantage to leaving these as they are? I have been deleting them from comments, but should I be leaving them where they are?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have the same problem, which confused me at first. I have taken to simply deleting them as they occur.
I see there are check boxes for “allow comments” and “allow trackbacks”, so presumably you can choose to not allow trackbacks, but this would disallow all, not only your own.

So I leave the box checked as allow, and just put up with the irritation. It does seem pointless to me, though, to be told about my own links from one post or page to others.

I leave them up, because they do encourage search engines to crawl your blog more thoroughly. They are technically unnecessary, but I find they do help although that’s just an impression of mine.

Also, once you change your domain name for a very short period of a few weeks Technorati doesn’t understand and counts all internal links as EXTERNAL, inflating your Technorati ranking. It thinks links on your blog are from whatever.wordpress.com to this other blog, whatever.com, and vice versa.
