Trackbacks won't turn off!

  Hi, I have created a number of pages, some have “Comments are closed, but trackbacks and pingbacks are open.” at the bottom and some don’t. I have been looking on your forum and tried to go to discussions and turn them off but they still appear. How can I please turn if off on all of the site and stop it coming up again?

  Also I am not the most technical person some please make it as simple as possible.

  To eit this setting retroactively on posts you’ve already made, edit the page and click on screen options. Make sure the discussion module is checked, then uncheck the box in that module that says allow trackbacks and pingbacks.

  :-( that hasn’t worked. I went to screen options and checked discussion. Then to settings discussion and looked and trackbacks was unchecked but they still appear?
