Tracking clicks on a post
-
How can I tell how many clicks a post has received? I have an advertiser who is curious about the number of people who read the post about her business.

The blog tied to your username is not a wordpress.com blog. What is the URL of the blog you are talking about?
-
If the blog you are talking about is hosted here at wordpress.COM, then it is in violation of the terms of service (based on you mentioning “advertiser”). Advertising is not allowed at wordpress.COM. If it’s hosted here, then you should get the advertising off of it immediately or the blog will get suspended or deleted for a violation of the TOS.
If you are talking about a self-hosted blog, then you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ . This forum is for those hosted here at the wordpress.COM free hosting service.

I am embarrassed to admit that I don’t know the difference between a wordpress.com blog and a self-hosted blog. My blog url is artfaircalendar.wordpress.com.
This is not an actual ad – rather a story I wrote about someone’s services. And we both want to know if anyone read it, and how many people that may be.

To get to your original question – if you go into stats in your dashboard, you should see the post on the right under top posts. (If it is not in today’s list, click on top posts and it will bring up the entire list.) Once you locate the post, click on the little graph to the right of the name. Then you can see the stats for just that one post.
Understand that if the post is displayed in full on your front page and somebody read it from that, it won’t show a “read” for that post.

Thanks for that explanation.
The question remains, is there a way to track the number of clicks on a story?
