tracking down urls in old posts?
-
I can see on my Blog Stats page that someone has clicked on an url I put in one of my posts, and when I click that url myself I discover it no longer works.
How do I find the post it is in to correct it? I have tried going a keyword search (using a word in the url) but that yields no search results. There must be an easy way to locate it?

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of one. You COULD try Google search for the whole link itself but put site:wordpress.com after the link in the search box, like:
http://raincoaster.com/ site:wordpress.com
If you’d link your username to your WP.com blog, I could customize that search further. The Librarything link is not relevant to the support forum questions.

I tried your googling suggestion without success:
Your search – http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid987655475/bclid1323293273/bctid1318913580?src=rss site:wordpress.com – did not match any documents.
Maybe I’m having a seniors moment, but I don’t understand your advice about linking my username to my wp.com blog, sorry. Can you clarify?
Thanks

Your username is linked to this:
http://www.librarything.com/profile.php?view=neilgodfreyThat doesn’t help us fix issues with your blog. If you put your blog’s url under “website” on your profile page, we can see it immediately and usually fix issues and make suggestions.
Well, I’m out of suggestions except you COULD search through your posts for that format of video; it would narrow things down. I keep the randomizer in my sidebar and click through it frequently and make sure all the links in old posts are still working. It prevents problems.

Thanks, that will make it faster to help you in the future. Also, when you leave comments now, people can click your name and check out your blog!
