Tracking location of visitors
-
How do I track the location of my visitors if WordPress.com doesn’t let me add the google analytics code?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Posting the same question four times does not get the answer any quicker and slows it down many times, all it does is confuse and irritate many of the unpaid volunteers that might otherwise have helped you.

@bringyourownit
I’ve marked you as a spammer the other four times you have asked this question and failed to read the answers.
Perhaps you will now read what people have told you here:
You can not add any plug-in for Google Analytics to a WordPress.com blog.
See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/from thesacredpath
@bringyourownit, do NOT post the same question in multiple threads. It causes rips in the time/space continuum and causes the volunteers to get cranky running around in circles.
Statcounter and SiteMeter both offer plain HTML versions of their code that will work here and shows some visitor location information, but do be aware that if ISPs cover large areas, that information may be seriously inaccurate. I used to see myself being reported as in Salt Lake City, but I was 800 miles from there. Now I’m reported as being in California, but I’m 2500 miles from there in Hawaii.
from timethief:
There are other third party visitor tracking programs we can use as well.

Just to confirm. These third party visitor tracking programs can be used by bloggers who are using the free version of WordPress?
-
Yes third party programs can be used, use the plain html versions not the script versions.
The links above have tracking programs that can be used here.

thanks i clicked on them and the articles discussed the discrepancy issue. in a previous post timethief said she preferred site meter. what is your opinion?
