I got the code I have my wordpress.com blog dashboard open I’ve tried copying and pasting the code in text widget. didn’t work what do I do now?
-
Can I use Google Analytics?
No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info
See all the forum threads here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/google-analytics
Note that there is a link to a convoluted workaround here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-allow-google-analytics?replies=4#post-931576P.S. I recommend searching prior to posting new threads.

what if I do a pay upgrade. You mean I can never have my wordpress.com blog work through Google Analytics . will a wordpress.org work?
-
I’ve been working on this for two weeks. If it can’t be done I’ve only found that out here
-
There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here and that includes using Google Analytics on a free hosted WordPress.com blog > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Yes, you can hire a web host and set up a http://wordpress.org install and use Google Analytics on it. -
To move you blog content into a wordpress.org install after you hire a web host and set the install up see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/
-
is there any way to have a wordpress blog work with google asense adwords or google Analytics?
its set up in Webmaster Tools -
Rather than struggle for two weeks, always search the forum if something’s not going as expected. You could have saved yourself a lot of time.
-
There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that allows you to use Google Analytics or Google Adsense.
There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/
Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

Refer to > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ -
var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-33888138-1’]); _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]); (function() { var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true; ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://’ : ‘http://’) + ‘stats.g.doubleclick.net/dc.js’; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();
That’s JavaScript and we cannot use it on our blogs as the software strips the code out to preserve secirity on this multiuser blogging platform.
-
But you can use Google Analytics or Google Adsense with wordpress.org if it hosted on a private domain
-
Yes. For clarity, we don’t answer any wordpress.org questions here. Register a wordpress.org username account on the top right hand corner of this page http://wordpress.org/support/ please and then post all your wordpress.org questions to their support forums.
-
ALL wordpress.org blogs have private domains by definition. Just getting a custom domain for a WordPress.com blog doesn’t turn it into a WordPress.org blog.
