Hi, how do I stop my blog stats tracking my OWN site views.

    thanks in advance,
    tatenda

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Visits to your site by you (while you are logged in to your WordPress account) are not counted on your site stats.

    • Visits you make to your own publicly available blog (when logged in to your account)
    • Visits by users that are logged in, and listed as admins on the blog

    Hi

Do I have to set it up this way? My blog was previously private and all my views were being tracked.

When you changed it to a public site, the stat counter stopped counting your visits.

Private sites count all visits from you, your fellow admins, authors, contributors, and invited readers.

As soon as you changed your site to public, the counter began tracking only visitors—invited, or attracted from elsewhere on the net. You don’t have to change anything.

If you visit your site when you are not logged into your wp.com account, then the little smilely face on the bottom will not recognize you so you will then be counted as a “real” visitor.
