  What’s the best way to increase traffic?

  1. Write content that is
  a. Good.
  b. Interesting for your readers.
  2. Post regularly and frequently.
  3. Promote your posts, both on social media and in real life.
  4. Be willing to wait. My site has been going for nearly three years now — traffic still isn’t great, or even close to it, but year after year I can notice a definitive increase. Volume = traffic. Time = traffic. Reputation = traffic.

  jandkdixon.wordpress.com – has an erratic posting record at best and only a few posts over several years – that makes it a tough sell

  also add a Subscribe Widget somewhere – so if someone visits your site and likes it they can subscribe and be notified when you next make a Post

  If it helps, take a look at my page. I’ve been blogging for just over two years. Over 73,000 of my 160,000+ hits have come from search engines. Blogging regularly helps. Facebook, Twitter, etc are great, too.

  Another good tip for bloggers who focus on a particular subject is to find message boards, subreddits, groups, etc. that deal with that category. If you show your interest in a topic, then sooner or later people may begin to visit your site. Don’t spam, but ignite interest.
