  I have had my blog for 2 years or so now and I pretty much have friends that are followers. How can I increase my traffic?

  I have a few suggestions that may help:

  • Connect your site to your social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter via Publicize
  • Use appropriate tags and categories for your posts so that people in the WordPress community can find your posts
  • You can gain a following pretty quickly if you blog regularly and consistently
  • With the above in mind, make sure that you are posting content that is high in quality and unique. Search engines will be much more friendlier to you if that is the case
  • Purchasing a custom domain and removing the .wordpress.com subdomain for your blog address is something I encourage users to do, as it provides a professional, easier-to-remember URL for your visitors.
