traffic from forum profile

Hi guys.
In the last couple days I’ve been delivered 3 hits from my support forum profile page.
Now, my blog (the best on the Internet, BTW :)) gets about 20 visits per day. No complaints — I hit 33 one day & wanted to crawl under a crumb & hide!
Stage fright.
But I don’t get why my support forum profile page would recieve a measurable percentage of hits I recieve on my actual blog.
Online predator?
DEA?
Any wisdom?
Thanks.

I have three suggestions:
(1) Curiosity perhaps. I just clicked into your blog and on your profile. And by extension if you don’t have an about page then people may look on the forum at your profile for more information.
(2) There has also been a lot of work done on “tags” and “stats” lately.
(3) Perhaps someone covets the name you have.
(4) The phrase “green light on” can have a pornographic connotation and there have even been a couple of searches in the last few days on my evironmental/political blog looking for porno. (No I’m not kidding.) -
I use to get that before too. Maybe they Googled you and your WordPress profile showed up on the search and they clicked it.

Seriously, I have had the weirdest word searches by google that have come to my blog.
The strangest one was “Goth Girl in Urine soaked pants”… Why would anyone want to search for that…The funny thing is I have called my youngest daughter goth girl on my blog.. and I have also done a post on Urine Soaked pants… not porn at all — but questioning what will it be like when we all get old, it was a satirical look at life.
So whoever is coming to my post called Brain Crunch > Urine Soaked pants are in for a philosophical look at old age!
Anyway just thought I would share!

Look the fourth from the Top WordPress Post of the Day is on Porno Tube. The content in the blog post has no more depth than an announcement. The blog owner is enjoying a huge increase in stats and this is why – it has a Porno Tube link to people involved in all kinds of sexually explicit acts. And surprisingly for some depraved people it seems that urinating on one another is “arousing”.
In the past week I’ve discovered the blosgosphere is apparently crawling with lowlife wankers who lead such meaningless and loveless real lives that they are hooked on doing little else but working on cultivating smooth palms and desensitized penises.
Well, I’m making it my mission to turn in every “smut” blog that I find on WordPress so feel free to click on the “next blog” button, and to join the cause by reporting every one you find through feedback.

Wow TimeThief… I am with you on that one. I too, being a mother of three children hate smut.
And nosysnoop… what a funny search. Maybe we can add a bit of fun and make a thread on funny and unusual word searches.
Whatya reckon?

@nosysnoop
um .. actually a few days ago there’s someone searching for “T” letters on my page too (i see it on the referrer page) -
I’ve been so amused by some of the search terms leading people to my site that I’m posting the funniest ones here. I leave out the obviously pornographic ones, but that still leaves quite a good selection of knee-slappers!

Going back to the original question… ;)
What’s probably happeneing is that someone clicked on your Member tag and that pulls up your profile which also includes a link to your site. I see them all the time from here, the Mu site, and WP.org.
