Traffic – Switching from wordpress.com to only .com

Hopefully this is not a silly question. I recently purchased a domain name and mapped it to my WordPress blog. Does this affect any traffic directly from WordPress that I had before? Meaning am I out of the WordPress loop in regards to getting traffic from WP itself now that I’m simply a dot com? Will this affect how google recognized me before to now? Thank you in advance for your answers.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, simply mapping a new domain name to a Wp.com blog doesn’t lose you the benefits of WP.com. What it does do is start from zero in terms of pagerank, etc, and it’ll have to build from there. If your old PR was 5, you’re at 0 or 1 now. After not too long, though, you’ll get back to either where you were or close. Linkbait as much as possible (ie post stuff that people want to link to) to make it happen faster.
