Trail period, IDX plug ins
-
I am trying to set up a business website while using the free one to get some familiarity with it. Can I convert it to a business website when I am ready? Is there a WordPress for real estate agents? I want to be able to add an IDX plugin. On the business websites, do you have a 30 day free trial period? It seems like it would take me quite a while to get a site up and running and paying for the first 30 days or so seems lik a lot of money.

Hello
You can absolutely start with a free plan, get familiar with WordPress.com and then purchase a Business plan when you feel ready.
You might want to keep these in mind:
- There is no ‘WordPress for real estate agents.’ However, if you look at the themes over here you might be able to find one that matches your business: https://wordpress.com/themes/
- You cannot add extra plugins to WordPress.com websites. For this, you might want to consider a self hosted WordPress website. Read about the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
- There is no trial, but there is a refund period of 30 days. There’s more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/
Let us know if this answers your questions. If you do decide to proceed with a WordPress.com site, you can come to this forum whenever you have questions and we’d be glad to help you out!

@cookelow1 – Also, be aware that WordPress comes in 2 different flavors; the standalone WordPress software and hosted WordPressdotcom (where we are). You can learn more about the differences between them in these guides:

https://en.support.wordpress.com/do-i-need-to-self-host/If you need to install plugins or themes specific for real estate agents, you would likely be looking to use the standalone WordPress software.

Thank you. It appears I should go with a self hosting wordpress to make this work. Since I have no idea what I am doing, I appreciate it!

That is opposite the info I got- I upgraded to premium- because it could intergrate IDX- and/or has an idx plugin-which I am trying to get to bottom of now. I bought a theme on Envato- but got ripped off- so I don’t advise it- the seller-deleted my access to the template, after I downloaded it- then download was bad- went to re-download and it was gone- contacted seller- no response- contacted envato- they said contact seller—round and round– then I contacted paypal to cancel transaction- since Envato wouldn’t and then Envato said they were canceling my access to Envato COMPLETELY, because of it…REAL PROFESSIONALS…NOT
