Tranfer a registered domain name from Go Daddy to WordPress
-
I registered a domain name at GoDaddy several months ago and now am ready to start working on it. Several people have recommended the free hosting and blogging sites at WordPress. How do I transfer my domain name from GoDaddy to WordPress?

Hi there!
I just did this. It was actually pretty easy.
Essentially, after I had set up my free WordPress.com account, I changed the nameservers under the GoDaddy Domain Manage section (Settings) to:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMThen I waited about an hour, and voila – my site was showing up under my WordPress.com site.
You can read more about how to do this from the WordPress end here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/
You do have to pay to redirect the domain name (example: changing http://yourwordpressname.wordpress.com to yourgodaddydomain.com)
so I actually just signed up for the $99 plan, which includes the free domain name (saving myself $13).I hope that helps! Good luck!

Oops, one more link that will help with this (this one is more relevant to you since you already have a registered domain):

Hope that helps! :-)
