tranferring WP to HostGator

    I am confused about transferring my WordPress pages to our own host. We have owned the domain tmcshows.com for years, and about year ago we started setting up a WordPress site and having our old website redirect people to the WordPress site. We now have hosting through HostGator, and installed WordPress on their server. What we want to do is get rid of the .Wordpress.com extension and have people just go to our WordPress site when they try to go to http://www.tmcshows.com. I asked HostGator for help, but they directed me to a page about transferring an XML file and it sounded like it would still be a .wordpress.com kind of site. I found the following info on your site, but don’t know which option we need to do (if any). Just not sure how to proceed at this point. Help.
