Transaction cannot be processed :o

  • Unknown's avatar

Repeated attempts to submit my credit card details always end in the same failure. Hey, first you are nagging me to upgrade and now you refuse to take my money? My internet connection is quite stable so I guess it must be your servers giving me the problem.

Please respond soon, I can’t wait to become a premium blogger. ;)

Almost 6 days now and no Automatix employee wants to accept my money???

I’ve been told to tag my post with #Modlook to get some response. Was that ok? #modlook

    #modlook ffs

  • Hi there,

    Sorry for the delay :)

Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies and see if that makes any difference.

If not, can you please give more information regarding the failure? Do you see an error message when you try to submit your payment details?

Can you also describe exactly from which page you are trying to buy the upgrade?

    Thanks.

Hey kokkieh, ok, I did …

    * empty the cache and got rid of cookies, at least the harmful ones that won’t go thru my security fence anyway. I’m on kinda save Linux already and drive a pretty secure system in the first place.

    * can’t give you any further information, sorry. Everything looks normal, it goes up to »Submitting Payment« … and then after like 20 seconds or so »Transaction Cannot Be Processed«. It’s the same every time.

    * I’m trying directly from my blog’s title page, the »My Page« thingy, and there »Plan« where I chose the Premium 99 dollars option. Everything looks as if it’s just made for this and shouldn’t give the user any problems.

    * if I recall correctly I tried it once from somewhere else but ended at the same formular and got the same fail message.

Please man, make it work, my blog is usually rather picture heavy and I really miss the option of illustrating my posts.

    Thx in advance

  • Thanks for the information.

Just to confirm, it lets you insert the payment information, and when you submit the payment it fails?

Is it possible for you to try a different card? And if you have a PayPal account, can you try paying directly via PayPal? And of course please make sure that payments from your country is supported by PayPal. As all our transactions are currently processed through them that is a requirement.

You might also want to check with your bank/credit card company whether they might be blocking the transaction for some reason. I have seen cases where that was the reason why a payment won’t go through.

»when you submit the payment it fails?«

    Zacly.

»Is it possible for you to try a different card?«

Nope, it’s our only CC, sorry. But I can assure you it works flawlessly.

»can you try paying directly via PayPal?«

Nope again. We have a credit card, so no need for PayPal nonsense.

Latest development: Our bank says during the last couple days every time we tried to send your 99$ some wpchr.org (or sumsuch) tried to deduct around 92 or 93 cents from our account as well, so they blocked the credit card. Anyway, even without that major major fuckup, something doesn’t seem to work with your system. You sure you don’t have some microtransaction bug havocing your servers?

Ok, we gave up and made a PayPal acc, and I’m already upgraded.

    Thx

  • I’m glad you were able to upgrade eventually.

I’ll ask our payments team to look into what happened with those transactions.

  • Hi again,

I have sent you an email which explains what happened here. Let me know if you didn’t receive it.

  • Unknown's avatar

Hai there, nope, didn’t receive it yet. Will, ask hubby to check the spam folder, he’s more clever than me with that stuff.

  • Okay. I can’t discuss the exact details here in the forums, but it comes down to a problem with how we do international transactions that sometimes cause them to be flagged as suspicious by non-US banks. Using PayPal as you did is currently the only way to get around that.

  • Unknown's avatar

Ya, we fished the mail from spam folder and got the info already. Gotta say this is usually unacceptable and 99% of security concerned people would stop using WordPress right away. But since I just joined not even a year ago, coming over from Google’s Blogger, particularly for the open source approach and supposedly more privacy and seriousness of you guys it was a real shocker to see how badly you’re organized and how badly you handle business.

I guess I must not remind you that it was afterall some US entity coming up with the idea of credit cards and that we never ever had any problems paying for anything with it. Not even statesside! That banks flag your almost criminal bookings as “suspicious” has nothing to do with them not being US banks but just shows they are taking their job of customer protection seriously. Even if it was only a few cents every time it was still not authorized by us and the bank fortunately did the right thing. It could have gotten us into serious trouble tho, had we tried to pay anything else with the CC during the last week. Jeeze, what’s wrong with your accounts people? You let interns doing this very sensitive job???

Thx for the 20 bux refund btw.

    Ciao
