transer domain to wordpress.com hosting
-
Hello-
I am currently using Yola.com to host my domain and maintain my website. I would like to transfer the domain to be hosted through wordpress.com. However, I do not want to pay for mapping where I would pay for a hosting service through Yola and then another fee to wordpress. I would rather transfer the domain and simply pay the annual fee to wordpress and have the domain hosted through wordpress. I was given a transfer number by Yola, but it seems I cannot do this through wordpress.com? Is there any way to take the domain name I have, without it being hosted through Yola, and have it hosted through WordPress. It was my impression that mapping means still paying another site for the domain name while paying wordpress to host. I know I don’t understand the technical nuances of this, but I would prefer to pay 1 party for the name and for the hosting. Please help!
Thank you!

hosting is free on WordPress.COM
domain mapping costs $13.-/yr – that makes a custom domain name work and show the custom domain name when people visit your site – if you are here with domain mapping you do not need to pay hosting where you are at now
domain registration needs to be done no matter what – WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain registration transfers – so you will need to keep the registration elsewhere
if you name was registered with WordPress.COM you would also need to pay for the domain mapping here if you wanted your blog to have the custom domain name show to visitors
