Transfer a Domain

Hi there! I would like to transfer my current domain from Namecheap over to WordPress, of which I’ve already paid upfront for the domain for 2 years with WhoIsGuard protection. Would all this still apply if i were to move over to WP? How would the free annual renewal for a year work if i were to go on the Business Plan? Thanks!

Yes, if you move your domain here, it’ll still be registered for two and will automatically be extended for an additional year for free if you purchase one of our annual plans.

Would this apply to the WhoIsGuard protection as well?

WhoisGuard is a special service offered by Namecheap which provides Whois privacy protection for the domain at their company. It is not something that would be transferred as it is their service and they don’t provide it for domains not registered with their company.
But I have great news! All domains registered at WordPress.com already come with Privacy Protection (which does the same thing) free of charge – you can read more about this here:
