How do I transfer a Domain I own from Squarespace to WordPress?

Hi there,
Generally speaking we recommend you set up your site here (as an empty site) by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/start/
You are welcome to enter your URL (for the existing site) at this time and it’s safe to do since it will not automatically switch the domain to your site here. You can choose to do that when your content here is “ready to launch” instead.
It’s worth noting that if you choose the yearly (not monthly) version of our plans, it includes a free domain transfer which you can use to move the domain when you are ready:
Once you have set up your first WordPress.com site you can import your content from the Squarespace site into your WordPress.com site by following the steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-squarespace/
This will move all your content over to the WordPress site where you can style it using our built in tools, and make everything ready for launch. Until you move your domain your work here will be at a private URL so no one has to see the changes.
As a final step, once everything is ready on this end, then you can move the domain and it will seamlessly replace the old site with the new one. We’re happy to walk you through that process in detail when you are ready. :)
