transfer a domain from another host to word press

  Use a domain which we used when we were with the other host. I would like to transfer it to my word press account the domain I would like to transfer is with go daddy and is polkaboosterclubofamerica.com PLEASE HELP ME

  Thanks for getting in touch. While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

  I do not have a pre-existing email so I don’t have to be concerned with that. Where I am confused is in step one where it states “Domain mapping is a paid upgrade that costs $13.00 per domain a year. Complete the purchase to begin the mapping process.” How do I complete the purchase can I purchase right in step one or must I go to the domain registrar’s website. I am afraid to start the mapping process until I am sure what I am doing. PLEASE HELP ME.

  There are two steps to setting up an externally registered domain on WordPress.com.

  1. Purchase Domain Mapping for your domain.

  Once that is done:

  2. Change the nameservers at your domain registrar to point to WordPress.com as described here:

  Hello rootjosh
  Please show me where and how to purchase my domain mapping. I am very unsure how to complete the process and I don’t to mess everything up. Please be more specific with me I am very very confused.

  Not a problem.

  Simply log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard, click on Store–>Domains, enter polkaboosterclubofamerica.com in the “add a domain” box and click the “add domain” button. Then follow the instructions that appear to map your domain.

  Let me know if you have any trouble.
