Transfer a registered domain name(bought by me on GoDaddy) to my WPupgrade plan?
-
I would like to upgrade my blog saanafest.wordpress.com but have already bought the domain name saanafest.com from GoDaddy before. When I try to upgrade I am asked which domain name I would like but of course the one I own is taken and does not show. I know how to map it to the wordpress page but it would be much easier and cheaper if I could get this domain with the wordpress upgrade and therefore collect everything at one place. Is there any way to do this?
I hope the question makes sense, it might be a bit messy, sorry about that.
Best wishes

When you go to https://wordpress.com/domains/add/saanafest.wordpress.com do you see an option that says “Map it” as the last option? That is the one you’ll want to select.
Note that mapping only connects the domain name to the WordPress.com blog. To make it work properly, you will also need to update the name servers to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM, and NS3.WORDPRESS.COM through GoDaddy. If you contact them to ask for help, they should be able to guide you. This may also help:
