Transfer a Site to a New Owner

    The option to ‘Transfer your site’ isn’t visible in the Settings > General menu of our site. Why might that be? How could we find that option?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

    We tried to follow the Guide (Transfer a Site to a New Owner), but the only ‘Site tools’ that are visible are:
    * Change your site address
    * Reset your site
    * Delete your site permanently

    The two of us who attempted to transfer the ownership between us are both Admins of the site. One of us believes she is the current owner as she is the person who is being billed annually.

    Could the problem be the type of site we have? AI generated advice stated “Confirm Site Type: The ability to transfer a site may vary based on the type of site you have. For example, certain site types may not support site transfers.”

    How can I check what type of site we have and whether the type of site allows transfer of ownership or not?

    I believe our website type is a Blog website.

    The option to transfer a site is only available to website owners. If you’re an admin on the website, you will not see this feature, however, if you need our help identifying the correct account, please go through the account recovery form:

    Thanks Robert. We did manage to complete the transfer. It did turn out to be an issue with the owner account. Once the owner was able to log in with the correct account the ‘Transfer your site’ option was visible, and we went through the steps.
