transfer a square space site over

    i have a site on square space that I don’t do much w/ but I don’t want to lose the domain. How can i transfer over my content and domain?

    Hi there,

    For your content, you will need to get a WordPress export file from Squarespace which you can then import here. Do the export/import process first, and wait until you’re sure all your media files has been imported, before you do anything to your domain.

    Import

    It’s not possible to transfer a domain you bought somewhere else to WordPress.com at present, so you will either need to keep the domain with Squarespace, or transfer it from them to another domain registrar.

    You can, however, connect the domain to WordPress.com through a process called domain mapping. To map a domain you’ll first need to add a paid plan to your site under My Site ->Plans. Then you can follow the instructions at this link to add and configure the domain mapping upgrade:
