Transfer a website hosted here on WordPress.com to squarespace

    Hello!

    Could you please walk me through the steps of transferring a website from WordPress.com to Squarespace without having to contact wordpress.com support?

    Note: it’s not a wordpress.org website and yes, i know the difference.. lol.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

    Go to My Site ->Tools ->Export, and export your site’s content.

    That will provide you with a file that you can import on Squarespace’s end.

    Export Your Website’s Content

    You’ll need to ask the people at Squarespace how exactly the import process works on their end.

    Note that in order for your site’s media files to also transfer properly your WordPress.com site will have to remain set to public until the import process on that end is complete.

    There is no way to transfer a WordPress theme, nor your WordPress.com stats or subscribers to Squarespace. Only your site’s content (posts, pages, comments, media files) can be transferred.
