Transfer an existing domain
-
I’ve had a domain registered through a third-party hosting service for about 10 years. My annual registration is about to be renewed next week, but I’d like to move it to WordPress.com. What’s the best way to go about doing that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
I am pretty sure WordPress does not accept incoming domain transfers. For other options please check the following support doc:
If in fact I am right about WordPress not accepting inbound domain transfers, you may want to try Siteground.com. I recently moved a domain to them and was very happy with their service.
I tagged this string with modlook to see if a moderator can verify my response.
Hope this helps

Hi there,
My annual registration is about to be renewed next week, but I’d like to move it to WordPress.com.
We don’t currently support incoming domain transfers to WordPress.com. The good news is it’s possible to use a domain you already own for your WordPress.com site, with Domain Mapping:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Doing so means you will continue to renew the domain through your current registrar.
You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan, such as the Personal plan. Each paid plan includes a free domain credit which you can use to map a domain you already own (or register a new one).
Let me know if you have any questions.
