Transfer an existing domain to another WordPress.com blog

  I just purchased the domain name improvidol.com, but mistakenly did so whilst using the wrong blog. It is now a secondary domain for moechee.wordpress.com, but I want it to be the primary domain for my new blog improvidol.wordpress.com. How do I do this? This page says to contact Support – https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/

  Hello,
  In the blog that has the domain you wish to transfer, go to Store > My Upgrades. Click the “Transfer to another site” link and follow the instructions. If you don’t see that link, click the gear icon next to the domain to make it (and other links) visible.

  I hope that this is not off topic, but it is the reason that I could not figure this out myself. The WordPress support site can seem … labyrinthine. Worse than that, I find that there seems to be a set of menus with a lighter blue menu theme that feels like “WP for idiots” — I am not allowed to choose important options that I am allowed to click on when I wander into a set of menus in which there is frequently “wp-admin” in the URL and the menus have a black theme. Frequently and frustratingly I have to chase down booksmarks from the black themed menus when WP has moved me from the black “yes, you have access to that function” menus to the blue “WP for novices” menus! Agh. Is there any way that I can set a switch somewhere etc. to say, “Please move me to and keep me within the novice menus,”? I hope this is coherent.

  I recognize this may be off topic, and thanks so much for this answer. I’m still waiting on a response from WP support but with your information I was able to fix this myself! Gratifying.
