Transfer blog from expired site to WordPress.com

  I have all my old blog files backed up, but never created an export file before my self-hosted site expired. How can I import my backed up blog files into a new WordPress.com site without an export file?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  What is the format you have the files backed up in? What the type of files you have ? If you could give us some details, we can figure out options..!

  Hi pavanraheja,

  I just have the raw files. I grabbed them them via FTP from my old server which is no longer online.

  Hi Eric,
  WordPress does not have FTP access to transfer your files FTP Access

  The only way to do so is using the EXPORT and IMPORT method,
  Coming from WordPress org

  Now one thing you can do is, the files you have, you can just temporarily transfer it to a hosting company with any domain, not necessarily the main domain, even on temporary domain, you can transfer the files there and get it running there possibly, you might need some assistance from WordPress org Support

  If you successfully run the website, From that website you can then try to export and then Import here on WordPress.com and use the other guide for Coming from WordPress ORG sites. Also something, from the Forum they may give more ideas, how you can get these files to Import files for WordPress.com.
