transfer blog ownership

Hi, Some time ago I created a blog for my artist brother at organomechano.com. I’d like to hand ownership of the blog and web site entirely over to him. He will be sole administrator and owner of the domain name etc. I have tried to look up how I can do this on the forums but confess that I simply don’t understand the process. Can someone from wordpress guide me through this please (I’m presuming it can be done). thanks, Sam.

I hadn’t realised it was so easy – thanks! Much simpler that the instructions I read previously! There’s an auto name upgrade that runs out in July (it just deletes ‘wordpress’ from the site address). Will my brother receive an email asking him if he wants to continue with this upgrade or maybe cancel it?

There was one last step in this process that we needed to do on our end–That’s why you got the email from David.
That step has been done so you are all set. If your brother wants the domain to renew automatically, he should go into the my upgrades page linked below and add his credit card info.

I really appreciate your help in getting this task done. The domain name upgrade for this site we have just transferred runs out on July 24th. If my brother chooses not to continue the upgrade, will its url simply revert to the .wordpress.com form? Will it remain functional in that form?
There are 2 other blogs which I started (and ran for some time) in the same way for a local activist and a community group he is part of – at https://thesemaphorium.wordpress.com & https://sema4seasons.wordpress.com. I would like to hand them both over to that individual. He is already an Editor at the first blog so I presume he has an account with WordPress?Do I just follow the same procedure? The address upgrade on the second has run out and I can’t seem to access it at present. If handed over, will it too continue to function under the .wordpress.com url? Cheesy questions I know, but I’m determined to understand all of this stuff. I’m a bit behind the times I’m afraid…

Correct! If your brother chooses not to renew organomechano.com, the site will still function at organomechano.wordpress.com. All posts, pages, and media items will be available at that URL. Just a note, if you or your brother previously shared any post/page URLs with the organomechano.com, users will receive an error message if you choose not to renew the domain. For example, the following would not work since you wouldn’t own the domain:
http://organomechano.com/2014/04/25/work-for-waltja-panel-fountain-april-2014/

Correct! I can actually transfer the blogs and any upgrades for you if you would like. It looks like both the blogs you mention have other WordPress.com users on them. If you just specify the username you would like each blog ownership transferred to, I can do this for you.

Yep! As explained above, the site will continue to function at the .wordpress.com URL (sema4seasons.wordpress.com in this case).

yes, I would appreciate further assistance in transferring these two blogs to their new owner. I have initiated this process by taking the first step that your colleague Liz identified at the top of this thread.
The new owner’s email address is: (email visible only to moderators and staff). I have already made him Administrator in both cases.
