  I, fairly recently, transferred my blog domain, http://www.abettermedaybyday.com, from wordpress to a different host… and I was advised by them to contact you so I can get my content from wordpress to them. This is the first time I do anything like that and I didn’t realize it was not going to transfer the whole blog (content and all) when I transferred the domain. Is there a way that I can get the blog going again under the original url it had before I purchased the “abettermedaybyday” domain through you all? I used to be able to get to it through simply going to a wordpress and the blog url I had given it “lifewhileworkingonme”… but that no longer works? I don’t need to have the blog under the better me name, but I want to get it back up. I need help figuring out how to either transfer all my content over, or be able to get it to where I can get to it with a wordpress blog name like I had before. Help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  Hello there,

  If you would like to export all the content from your WordPress.com site in order to upload it into a self-hosted site on another server, you can do so by following these instructions:

  Export Your Website’s Content

  Then, you can import your XML file into your self-hosted site. Your new host can assist with this, if you need, or you can request assistance here:

  http://WordPress.org

  To view your content at lifewhileworkingonme.wordpress.com, you can do so here:
  http://lifewhileworkingonme.wordpress.com/wp-admin

  Click Tools → Export to start the process.
