Transfer content do a new domain

Transfer content to a new domain. I currently own the domain jeanherreman.com. My name has changed and I want to change/transfer my content to a new domain. I am about to purchase jeanbardo.com. However I am unclear how to do this, and since I already have a WordPress account, I am not sure if I am already paying for a plan. Can you help me straighten this out so I have one account and one plan?

Hi! I can see your site doesn’t currently have a paid plan on it, and I’m not sure whether it can support a new domain for that or whether a new name would also fit under the site’s legacy status. Here’s what I’d try:
- Add the domain here: https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/jeanherreman.com
- Select the new name as primary. If your plan allows it, that will automatically redirect all traffic and links going to the old domain over to the new one, and give search engines a signal letting them know the name has been updated.
If all else fails, you may be asked to stick with the old name or get a plan, but I would recommend the personal plan anyway. It removes ads, gives your site extra storage space, and adds several features available only to upgraded sites (like premium content.) Let us know if you have any questions!
