transfer current premium

  Hi
  I few months ago when I was promoted, I was in touch with a person named Jenhooks regarding closing my current blog and keeping it only as a reference and not to use anymore. And then applying my existing premium purchase to start a new blog for my new current job.

  The thread is no longer available. Can someone help me do that? I’m ready.

  I’m more than happy to help you with that! You can transfer your Premium plan to a new site following these directions:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgrades

  Currently your domain joycedara.com is bundled with your Premium plan. If you’d like to transfer the plan, but leave the domain on your currently site joycedara.wordpress.com, just let me know and I can separate them for you!

  Hi again,
  I need help.
  I think i transferred the premium to joycedarablog.wordpress.com but what I’d like to be able to do is use the joycedara.com on my new blog and basically archive the one I was using. I’m leaving my job as principal and I won’t be using it any longer – I just want it as a reference for my former families.
  I’d like my new job to be using the premium one ( I think I did that)
  Can you help me? Also I understand the archived one (not premium) is free but I see a $26 dollar rate. Help :)

  Sorry about that! I thought the domain moved with the Premium plan, but apparently it doesn’t.

  I’ve moved your domain to the correct site now.

  I’m so sorry to bother you. Thank you for your help. Here’s my problem. I need the old site to be archived, so that people can still see it. If the address they have is joycedara.com, I have a problem don’t I? Any recommendations? I have the site on private as it’s a work in progress, not sure what folks will see? Any suggestions? Help please! Maybe I need to keep it the way it was for a while otherwise there is no way for them to continue to view it?

  Your old site is now available at joycedara.wordpress.com. If people visit your domain joycedara.com, they’ll end up at your new site.

  While your site is private, people will see this message when they attempt to go to that domain:

  http://joycedara.com/ is marked private by its owner. If you were invited to view this site, please log in below.

  You’re sweet and patient. Thank you. I’m a bit bummed but I think I may need to keep the old one w joycedara.com and after some time has passed switch it then. Or maybe buy another domain/premium and cancel the original when it is up for renewal.

  What do you think? Switch it back for now ?

  Sounds good! I’ve moved the domain back. You can always post on your old site a quick post that says something like ‘On [some date], I’ll be moving to my new website. You’ll still be able to access this site as an archive at joycedara.wordpress.com’

  And then just let us know when you’d like the domain moved. :)
