Transfer custom domain to a free wordpress one

Hi!
I would no longer like to host my blog with Bluehost. However, from what I read on their website, I understand that my blog and its content will be deleted when I choose to cancel/not renew my domain. Would it be possible to somehow transfer my blog onto a free wordpress domain but using the original name – as in millieonhearts.wordpress.com instead of millieonhearts.com. Whilst it may not look as professional, I’m not 100% happy with the idea that if I stop paying all of my content and hard work will be deleted. I think I would much prefer the freedom of having a free domain and not being tied down financially. Is this something that would be possible to do? I have tried starting a new account/new site but the domain millieonhearts.wordpress.com is not available since I recently deleted it. I’ve got myself into such a pickle with all of this and I would really like to just start again and keep things simple. Hope it’s possible.
