Transfer DNS *TO* wordpress.com (not just map the domain, but transfer it)

  I want transfer domain name registration *from* another registrar *to* wordpress.com. I don’t want to simply map the domain, but to transfer the DNS registration to wordpress.com. My site lives here and I want to consolidate the DNS registration here, too. The other registrar is charging too much and I’m not hosting the site with them, anyway.

  I’ve requested the EPP code from the other registrar. But when I try to purchase a domain with wordpress.com, I hit an error message (or course) saying it’s already is already registered elsewhere, with instructions for purchasing domain mapping here. I understand why I get that message but not how to move forward with tranferring registration to WordPress.com.

  WordPress.COM is not set up to accept incoming domain name transfers – there are a lot of other Registrars out there – find one that is less expensive than you now have

  WordPress.com does not accept incoming domain transfers.

  Hi,

  Currently, you cannot transfer registration of a domain to WordPress.com (see http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#transferring-a-domain-to-wordpress-com )

  My personal opinion (and only that), I like Namecheap.com as an option for low cost domain registration.

  p.s. @kraftbj, thanks for the link to the docs about this. I don’t know how I overlooked it. I must have spent 45 minutes last night trying to find the answer! (shakes head at self)
