transfer domain
-
I buy a domain in wordpress.com, but now I want to redirect to another blog outside wodpress. How d I do?
-
This process transfers the domain name to another registrar.
First, go to the registrar that you are moving to.
You need to start the process there. You will be asked for a ‘Authorization Code’ or an ‘EPP code’In your blog here, go to Options > Domains
Login to your domain control panelThere is a ‘Auth Code’ link.
Click that and confirm you want the code emailed to you.Note: The code has a time limit. So when you get it, don’t wait to use it or you have to do all the above again.
Enter the Auth Code at the new registrar.
Soon after that the new registrar should email you to confirm the successful transfer of the domain. This means that they are the place to go for renewing your domain and managing the nameservers.
At that point we cannot help further with that domain. That should work :)

thanks.
But i put the wrong qustion.
What I want to do it’s:
1.I have a blog in wordpress and I buy a domain in wordpress, doing domain maping.
2. I want to use the domain to maping another blog, outside wordpress.
Can I do it? -
Yes. That’s what Mark just told you how to do. You need to know where you want the domain mapped to outside wordpress and start the process there first. Then follow Mark’s instructions.

sorry, just another question.
can I only change the domain maping to another blog (outside de wordpress) but still use the wordpress as registrar?
-
Yes, you can. I did exactly that recently, repointing a blog to an outside host but leaving the domain registration with WordPress.
-
my question it’s a diferent situation
I have a wordpress blog, and I have a domain registred at wodpress.com.
I made domain maping with both. But now, I want to change that.
I want stay with my domain at wordpress, but to point to another blog, outside wordpress. -
Yes, that’s what I did. I repointed a blog that had domain mapping to an outside host but left my domain registration here. When the time comes to renew the domain, I will pay WordPress.

When I signed up with my outside host I declined the opportunity to transfer my domain registration.
When the time came to repoint the domain I went to Options>Domains>Manage your domain and followed the prompts from there.
-
medialog – I apologise, I gave you the wrong answer.
Still go to Options > Domains
Login to the control panel, click to manage the domain.
You need to set custom nameservers – your new host will have given you these, they start ns1. and ns2. Enter those and save that change. You then need to wait, maybe 24 hours, maybe less, maybe more.
That will keep the registration here but move the domain hosting
