Transfer Domain

I am wanting to transfer my domain to a self-hosted site on GoDaddy, but when I follow the instructions to do this I don’t see the required Transfer Domain option in the left hand menu when I try to edit the details on the ‘My Domains’ page.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Currently, your domain pioneercollective.org.uk isn’t registered at WordPress.com. It’s mapped. Mapping and registration are actually two different things. The mapping upgrade just points your domain to WordPress.com.

It looks like the domain was purchased at 123-reg. Do you remember registering the domain there?

Once we get this all settled, I can remove the mapping upgrade. Since you will be using the hosting at GoDaddy for your domain, you won’t need that any longer at WordPress.com!

Thanks for your help. Yes, I’ve been able to access the cPanel for the domain, and I’ve changed the forwarding but pioneercollective.org.uk still points to the WordPress.com blog. I guess if you remove the mapping for me then this should correct the problem.

    Hi there,

I went ahead and removed the domain mapping upgrade from your site. You won’t be charged again going forward for that. However, the name servers on pioneercollective.org.uk are still pointed to WordPress.com. In order for your domain to reflect your new self-hosted site, you’ll need to change the name servers to point to your new host!
