Transfer domain

  Hello! I have had a site on Squarespace for which I registered a domain. I want to move that to WordPress.com and have “unlocked” it and got the “transfer key.” However, “mapping a domain” seems different than transferring it–how do I make sure I’m not paying for this domain in two different places?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Mapping an existing domain is different to transferring a domain to another registrar.

  Mapping involves two fees: [1] the fee you pay to your domain registrar for your domain itself. [2] the fee you pay to WordPress.com to map your domain to WordPress.com site/blog.

  So you will not pay for domain in two places.

  NOTE: WordPress.com cannot accept incoming domain transfers. If you would like to use your domain with your WordPress.com blog, you must leave it registered with your current registrar and map it to WordPress.com as described below.
