transfer domain

  I purchased a domain name on Namecheap and want to transfer it to WordPress to set up a blog. I set up both accounts yesterday and carried out the required processes on the namecheap site to transfer the domain at approximately 1pm yesterday. This morning I’ve tried again to open that domain on wordpress and it still won’t allow it. Is this indicative of an underlying permanent issue, or is it simply a timing issue with the transfer?

  While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
