transfer domain

I mistakenly signed purchased a domain from wordpress.com without knowing that i actually needed to have a self-hosted site and needed to purchase from bluehost (or the like) to do so. I am wondering how i go about transfering my domain over to bluehost since i’ve already paid them for hosting as well. I’m literally spinning in circles as i am learning how about wordpress.org/wordpress.com and self-hosting etc. i am hoping my naivety did not cost me a lot of money.
In the end, i need to figure out how to transfer my domain of my unbuilt/never touched worldpress.com site to bluehost. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there, you have two main options:
1) You could point the domain to your self-hosted site by updating its name servers to those provided by Bluehost:
2) You could wait until 60 days have elapsed from the day you purchased the domain (October 26, 2012) or the date you made any changes to your registrant contact information – and then initiate a domain transfer to another registrar, either Bluehost or a third party.

I did option 1 while waiting for a reply. Will it cost for me to transfer my domain to BlueHost in 60days? Also, how can I change my domain name?

When you transfer the domain, you will be purchasing an additional year (or more if you like) of registration from Bluehost.
Also, how can I change my domain name?
Once it’s been registered, a domain name can’t be changed. You can always register a new domain name and let the old one expire.
