  I am attempting to transfer my domain to a self hosted blog from wordpress.com. I currently am getting an error due to too many redirects and my homepage will not load. I have ensured that issue is not between my host (BlueHost) and wordpress.org. I believe the issue issue may be being caused by redirects between wordpress.com and the new website. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  I think I may just need to delete the domain becausefoodislife.com from wordpress.com but am unsure how to do it and want to make sure it won’t adversely affect my jetpack plug in (and prevent me from reaching my previous followers on my new self hosted site).

  Hi there,

  I’ve removed the Domain Mapping that was fouling up the redirect loop.

  I replaced it with a Site Redirect (that won’t cause the same error) so that anyone visiting becausefoodislife.wordpress.com on accident still gets pointed to your self-hosted site at http://becausefoodislife.com/

  Let me know if that’s not what you prefer.

  None of this will impact your Jetpack connection. :)
